Deep In A Hole & Happy

Deep In A Hole & Happy

Being the temperamental creative type (or, so that's my excuse), I have spurts of Poor Me Syndrome. It's that neurotic sense that nothing is good and you're overweight and ugly or old and wrinkled or that no one loves you and probably never really did. Maybe it's a day for feeling tired and overlooked or lonely and misunderstood, but you get my drift, don't you?

Well, when that "deep in a hole" feeling came over me tonight, as the shower beat steamy water over my head, I meditated about my blessings. Here are a few - in no particular order of importance. As basic as they are, they're pretty damned important in keeping me happy. What are your blessings?

Here are mine:

1. I've got a great head of hair and no bald spots. The hair is grey, but that's okay.

2. Very little of the hair on my head is growing out of my face.

3. When I awake in the morning, I usually know where I am.

4. Green & Blacks' Organic Maya Gold chocolate bar. Yes, it's a blessing.

5. A cozy home and a person in that home who loves me. At least, I'm pretty sure about that love part.

6. I have no discernible life threatening diseases. Been there, done that.

7. My legs take me where I want to go and I can see where I'm going.

8. Compared to some people, I'm pretty smart, kinda cute and sorta young.

9. Most of the time, I can complete a sentence without forgetting my original point.

10. The food group: coffee, prosecco, bagels, chocolate, cream cheese, cherries, pie and french fries.

Think happy,

Judi
